As the team searched for software that would allow full screen recordings of our user tests, Graham found Mobizen Screen Recorder. It lets you do the following:
1. Record the screen of your Android mobile device >>> 1080P Resolution, 12.0Mbps Quality, 60 FPS.
2. Capture background audio using the phone’s microphone.
3. Edit and save a MP4 movie to your phone’s internal storage.
Graham and I both installed the app onto our Android phones, and early tests looked promising. However, one sticking point was the inability to capture user touches on the phone’s screen – which are a key part of the user testing we want to carry out.
Luckily, I was able to find an alternative solution on my phone, via Settings -> Developer Tools -> Show touches. Enabling this option shows visual feedback on screen for every touch or gesture, and Mobizen duly recorded this feedback when we tried another sample. We’re now ready for User Testing.
